Notable companies, such as Nintendo, have drawn criticism for discontinuing access to older titles, particularly with the recent closure of their 3DS and Wii U digital stores. In contrast, the PC gaming platform GOG has launched an innovative initiative called the Preservation Program. This project aims to ensure that classic games remain compatible with current and future hardware, focusing specifically on the PC gaming experience.
