Genshin Impact 2.5: Is It True That Some Characters Will Have Their Outfits Censored?

The 2.4 Update for Genshin impact was incredible! The quests, the character, and the region all received an update, and fans of Genshin Impact were thrilled to see all of these changes and new content added to their beloved game. Some players have shown discontent with the overabundance of polearm characters being added to the game, but the overwhelming majority was happy with the changes.

However, this excitement was someone ruined by the announcement of the 2.5 update. According to the rumor, this update is going to make changes to the outfits of several female characters including Raiden, Ganyu, Yoimiya, and Xiao. What sparked the controversy is that these changes aren’t meant to make these characters look better. Instead, they are meant to make these characters less unique and attractive.

For example, Ganyu’s back will now be completely covered, Yoimiya will lose her bandages, Ningguang’s dress split is now much lower, Xiao now has no tattoos, and poor Beidou got her breasts reduced in size. This rumor got the fans worried that miHoYo will now be censoring all the other characters to make them look less sexualized and attractive.

Thankfully, this rumor was proved to be FAKE by several credible sources, including the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor Discord. Despite the fact that this rumor is fake, miHoYo might someday decide to censor some characters, since the Chinese officials have very strict policies regarding sexuality in video games and TV shows.

Were you afraid that this censorship rumor would turn out to be true? Do you think that the great visual esthetics of Genshin Impact is one of the reasons for its incredible success? Tell us what you think in the comments.
