Ubisoft Delays Major Mobile Releases, Focuses on Quality and Upcoming Titles

Ubisoft's financial update signals a shift in the release schedule for some of its anticipated projects, which might affect the plans of mobile gamers eagerly awaiting new titles. The company's first-quarter earnings report for 2024 has revealed delays for two major mobile games, which were initially expected sooner.

According to the report covered by Eurogamer, both The Division Resurgence and Rainbow Six Mobile will now launch after the next fiscal year. Originally expected to be available by the end of March 2025, their release has been pushed beyond this timeframe.

The report explains that the adjustments were necessary to meet expectations and optimize key performance indicators in a competitive and extensive market. The development teams are taking the extra time to polish these games, ensuring a higher-quality experience upon release.

Ubisoft's co-founder and CEO, Yves Guillemot, highlighted a positive beginning to the year, with net bookings surpassing targets and further solidifying their strategy. The report also celebrated a strong debut for the free-to-play multiplayer shooter XDefiant and continued robust performance for the long-standing Rainbow Six Siege. Additionally, franchises like Assassin's Creed and The Crew have shown growth, partly thanks to their latest releases, Assassin’s Creed Mirage and The Crew Motorfest.

Moreover, the document touched upon the second season of Skull and Bones, although it didn't clarify whether the game had gained popularity since its launch earlier in the year. For now, no specific release dates are provided for Rainbow Six Mobile or The Division Resurgence.

Despite these delays, Ubisoft fans have other titles to look forward to in the near future. With Star Wars Outlaws scheduled for August 30 and Assassin's Creed Shadows set for November 15, players will have engaging content to enjoy while waiting for the delayed mobile games.
