Ahsoka Season 2: Filming Delayed Until 2025, Fans Anticipate New Star Wars Content

Excitement for the next installment of Disney+'s Ahsoka series is building, though fans will need to exercise patience as filming for Season 2 is not anticipated to commence until the summer of 2025, almost a year away. Actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo shared this update during her appearance at Dragon Con.

During the panel discussion, Bordizzo, who portrays Sabine Wren in the first season, mentioned her expectation to be occupied with filming next year, possibly missing future conventions. She was joined by other notable Star Wars cast members, including Giancarlo Esposito, Danny Trejo, and Manny Jacinto, even though Jacinto's project, The Acolyte, has sadly been cancelled, disappointing many fans.

The Star Wars universe under Disney continues to expand. With productions such as Skeleton Crew, the second season of Andor, and a film centered around The Mandalorian and Grogu having concluded, anticipation is building for the comeback of beloved character Grand Admiral Thrawn.

If we consider the filming timeline for Ahsoka Season 2, it’s reasonable to expect that the series won't debut until 2026, most likely after May, coinciding with the planned release of The Mandalorian and Grogu's project.

Nevertheless, fans can look forward to fresh content before then, as Star Wars: Skeleton Crew is set to premiere this December, providing some much-needed excitement in the interim.
